Gina's 3 Ts+1 for Mindful Success on Race Day & Entrepreneurial Success in Life
Sep 03, 2019Recently while out for a run I was thinking about the three T’s I use on race day and I’ve used them in the past for triathlons, cycling events and running. I want to share those with you wether you are a training for a marathon or running a business because these also apply to entrepreneurial success!
Let’s get right into it!
Technique: Technique is a two parter - the first part is about getting into state - saying YES! YES! YES! Success is 80% mindset and only 20% strategy so get yourself into an outstanding state of mind. Second part of technique is the actual technical parts of the sport or job you are doing. For example, when I’m biking I am mindful of the positioning of my body, make sure my shoulders are relaxed and I’m in rhythm with the bike. This applies to any sport - there are always techniques to be mindful of so make sure you spend some time thinking about your technique.

Target: When you feel challenged in races set reachable targets for yourself. “I can reach that quarter mile marker” or “I can reach the end of that trail”. As you become more challenged you should set shorter targets for yourself “I can reach that pine tree up ahead” or “I can run for another ten feet”. Setting smaller, achievable targets can help keep you going and get you that little bit farther.

Talk: Self talk - You can do it GINA! You’ve GOT THIS! You are STRONG! I’m so grateful for my strong legs! Or maybe it’s music. If singing helps motivate you, sing your heart out to help you keep moving.

Bonus T: Training - having a great trainer, a great coach, someone great to cheer you on and help you with the technique, targets and talk will help you get across that finish line and succeed in life!
