Why should I meditate?

Meditation mindfulness, that new fad that's out there, well really it's a 5000 year old fad and the ancient vadic sages really were onto something when they meditated each day.

Meditation affects so much of our ability to function as entrepreneurs, to have the energy, the vitality and the health.

In fact, when we are stressed our body suppresses our digestion. So everything you eat and drink while in a stressed state doesn’t get digested and your body is unable to extract what is healthy and eliminate the rest.

That means those green drinks and those hearty salads that you’ve been cramming in thinking, I’m eating healthy, are in fact not helping you at all. When you eat in a stressed state your meal is just going to sit in your tummy and putrefy.

Eating in a calm state, even just a couple of deep breaths before you start eating will calm your stressed mind and allow your digestion to normalize, then you can eat your healthy food and get on with your day.

When your body can properly extract the nutrients, it will give you the energy and vitality that you need to keep going forward which is what we need to do as entrepreneurs. To stay the course, keep going, have grit, it all takes energy.  I’d rather you eat a hamburger in a calm state and let your body extract what is healthy than cram in a green drink and a salad in a stressed state and not get any nutrients out of it.

Try it with your next meal...

Calm state…

A couple of deep breaths...

And then eat that yummy salad!
