Namaste - WHAT? Notice the Light in Someone’s Eye
Jul 10, 2019Connected but Disconnected
A recent study found that on average people look at their smart phone at least 52 times a day. Many adults ages 18- 34 believe it’s an addiction. If you are with someone, how many times do you feel the urge to look at your phone while talking to them – especially with all the beeps and rings signaling you to “LOOK AT ME.”

Who is Right in Front of Me?
Here’s the challenge, with your smart phone demanding your attention, we are less and less able to look at the person right in front of us.
Ancient Vedic Wisdom
The ancient Vedic spiritual sages may not have predicted that people would have a digital device demanding our attention. But, they did teach about the importance of connection with each other.
Welcome to the term Namaste.
NOT Namaste
You may have seen the funny quotes out there using this world:

Nope – that’s not Namaste… but they are fun to read!
Bow to Each Other
Many spiritual instructors conclude their practice with a bow and the word “Namaste.”
What Does it Mean?
What does Namaste really mean?
Namaste is an ancient Sanksrit greeting still used in India and in many yoga, meditation and other spiritual practices. It is derived from two root Sanskrit words, Namaha meaning ‘bow’, and Te – meaning ‘to you’.
How do you do it?
How do you do “Namaste?”
You can merely say Namaste. The word Namaste has many meanings. Generally speaking, when said to another while looking into their eyes, it means, “I bow and honor the place in you where there is only light.. When I see that place in you and you see that place in me, we are together and are only one.”
When was the last time you felt “one” with someone else? Strange concept for many!
Time to Reconnect
I work with many entrepreneurs in the tech world who feel “disconnected” from other people. They spend more time connecting with their tech than connecting with others and often feel lonely.
How great could it be if we could reconnect, even just by looking up to actually see the light in someone else’s eyes?

Give it a go. Don’t do the creepy staring thing… Just take a moment to look, smile and realize there is a light in the eyes of the person right in front of you.
Be Well, Be Joyful, Be Inspired…
Have a Beautiful Day…
